TONBRIDGE CALLING was founded in the summer of 2016 in response to the sudden rise in instances of intolerance following the referendum result, some of which were directed at our friends and family.

We wanted to demonstrate that the result was not an endorsement of the politics of division and to bring our town together in a day of celebration. A day to highlight that wherever we may come from we are all united in so many ways.

We are trying to foster a community without barriers and this is fundamental to our undertaking- all our events will be welcoming and accessible to everyone.

​

We want to make a positive statement about diversity and send a message that the town welcomes multiculturalism.

​

We will not accept a future where we are divided on grounds of nationality, race, sexuality, gender or religion and will strive to ensure Tonbridge remains a tolerant town where it's people can be secure in the knowledge that they are surrounded by friends.

HOPE has to conquer hate for the sake of our children and the future of our nation.
